Many of these new workers and fresh graduates will try to directly find a job without knowing their job description. This is understandable. Lots of fresh graduate will be very happy when the job application was received by the company and they immediately hired without much comment. They think that asking job description will make the employer think negatively to them.
It’s also not wrong. In general, the employers would be happy if their employees are asked about their job description. This would indicate that their employees have an interest in their responsibilities. Here are some reasons why the job description is important for employees and even more so for those who are looking for a job1. Knowing about their duties.
Job description will be your list of tasks and responsibilities. This will ensure that you know what tasks you should do and what you should not do. Guessing is not a good choice. However, you may be able to perform tasks that you should not do well. But in the end you will be unable to do your real job.
If you keep doing it, doing a task that’s not your job description, you will gain nothing from the assessment of your employer.

2. Avoid to be used by others.
In fact, there is a time you will be asked to perform a task that is not in your job description. You are not wrong if you reject the task by explaining that the task is not in your job description. Of course you must present it politely.
Or you may choose to perform that task. And you can tell your employer that the job is not in your job description, and ask whether the task should be included in your job description.
3. Most important is the evidence.
Many employees tell their employer that they have done their best, always working overtime and so on but did not receive recognition in kind. Unfortunately, the employer will be too busy if they have to judge one by one the work of their employees. You should submit a report on the progress and results of your work. Reports submitted must be in accordance with your job description, or else the employer will not be reviewing your report.
